Here’s the thing: this is an election post-mortem and a NORMALCY BIAS warning.
I think the mass shift was due to a few factors:
- Continuing high prices for fuel and food.
- Another unpopular un-won foreign war.
- The Republicans have been in charge and did nothing. Well, they obstructed Trump.
- Trump fatigue.
- Young voters.
That’s all I’m going to say about that, because it’s now in the rear view mirror. What happens next is more important. Yes, the Left is going to overreach. Bigly. This is where the Normalcy Bias trap lies. I see many on the internet saying, “no big deal, Trump can veto everything.” This makes the unwarranted assumption that we are still in a working Republic constrained by law respected by both sides.
Now that the Left have their hands back on the controls, what gives you confidence that they will accept any limits on that control? We already have datarepublican’s unearthing of the pre-election coup plot. At least a thousand people were already preparing for treason, including some military or former military.
You know that the impeachment articles are already drafted. “But, Mr. Red, they don’t have the votes in the Senate!” Are you sure about that? The likely 56 votes only need 11 more to succeed. “Impossible!”, you say. Nothing is impossible. And why were there exactly zero Epstein arrests or disclosures? No one is exempt from blackmail. You’ve seen how Thune absolutely refused to advance the 80/20 Save Act. You’ve seen how the Deep State manufactured the “Joe Biden” presidency. And the filibuster rule will disappear – the Dems will need exactly zero Republican votes to legislate.
And think about all the malefactors that still have criminal exposure from the Biden era. Think they have motivation?
