Moron Lobby

 I saw a meme today and can’t find it now. It was “Molon Labe” in Greek letters on the back window of some truck. The helpful translation from Greek was “Come and get them”, updated to modern English, “Free gun in car”. 

Yeah. I never was much of a bumper sticker guy, but I always had a small American flag sticker on a rear window. It was mostly a response to 9/11, but also a subtle signal to Officer Friendly that I was probably a good guy. 

Nowadays I go gray man – no nothing, no custom license plate, no signal to anyone. My vehicle is nothing special, no indication I am an American male with no intent to be a victim. Same goes for clothing – no open carry, no “shoot me first” vest, no MAGA. Even in NNH, there are crazed lefties. 

I inadvertently met one last night at a social event. A buddy and I were sitting and chatting and she was sitting close by and chimed in about  something. The warning signs were there: lives in VT, no kids (wouldn’t want to raise them in this world), my age (meaning old).  Buddy tells her something about my military past and she opens with, “I wish the military would do something about running the country!” Things rapidly went downhill. She asked the inevitable about Trump and I said 100% support. TDS on steroids. When she started in on J6, “They ASSAULTED our Capitol!”, I asked how many people were killed that day. She completely refused to engage on that and kept spewing, to which I repeatedly responded with my same question. Finally, she admitted that she neither knew nor cared. I very calmly said, “Two protesters, one shot and the other beaten to death by the Capitol Police.” At that point she told me she couldn’t talk with me any more and acted like a vampire sprinkled with holy water and ran into the kitchen. Shortly later, I went into kitchen to bid Adieu to our hosts, and she scuttled to the end of the table and hissed at me. For real.

I’ve seen a little TDS before, but this one took the cake. I’m sure she’d like to have the government confiscate everyone’s guns. I’m also sure she’d had no clue that one was in her immediate presence. So, yeah, Molon Labe. There will not be a peaceful reconciliation with the left.
